Motorcycle Repair: 91 Fatboy burning oil., harley shop, piston rings

Question
Hello, I recently bought a 91 Fatboy.(1st Harley, don't know much about them yet) The previous owner had a Harley shop put Screaming Eagle heads on it in April. A buddy riding behind me noticed that when I cracked the throttle, I'd blow some serious smoke. In the garage I noticed it was from the front head and I was over 1 qt low on oil. Any chance this is just valve adjustment fix? If not, what else? Also, which high performance plugs do you recommend running in this bike. Thank you, Jeff.

Answer
There are two places you get oil to burn. One is from the valve guides and the other is around the piston rings. Since you said that your heads were installed in April, then I would not think that it would be coming from there. I would say that you have bad rings.
On the plugs I always use Champion
Happy holidays
