Motorcycle Repair: 1983 flhtc shovel 5speed, rubber gaskets, head gasket

Question
hi mike i bought a 83 flhtc w/a 1340 shovel .010 over and right after i got it the rear head gasket blew the top end,oil pump, stator and clutches and bearings in trans all are new or rebuilt and after putting the head gasket in i got a oil leak from the oil line from the primary case's to the rocker boxs is there a certain way that the oil line goes in to the case or box? or do i just need to put new rubber seal's on the line? and one more thing when bike is running the exhaust out of the right pipe is hot and the left pipe is cool? it does have the original exhaust so the rear cylinder is split to both pipes. oh the motor supposed to have 500-1000 miles since top end rebuild>

Answer
On the oil leak, just replace the rubber gaskets and that should solve the problem.
On your pipes, the left one will always run cooler. There is not much exhaust that goes into it. Most of the exhaust goes through the right side
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
