Motorcycle Repair: 2007 FLHTC, harley shop, shimmy

Question
I have had a shimmy in my front end since I have bought it in 2007.The harley shop replaced front tire because it had been known that Donlop had some problems with some of their mnfing. It seemed to help but after putting about 2000 miles the shimmy came back. The harley shop changed tire for the second time it is winter now so they told me that if it did not help they would look at it again.
I would like a second oppinion on this matter and if you have ever run across this problem before.

Thank You
Bob.

Answer
A shimmy in the front end can be caused from a couple different problems. Bad front tire, bent rim or out of shape rim, bad steering head bearing, or to loose steering head bearing. I have run across the problem before, but usually its the tire itself. If you have put a second tire on and you still have the problem, I dont think its the tire
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
