Motorcycle Repair: 2008 FXD idle, bike mike, factory stock

Question
QUESTION: Can anything be done to calm the high idle characteristics of the 08 Superglide. It has been that way from the dealership where I bought it new. They said it was normal, but as a mechanic, I feel it is just too high strung. When cold, the idle is perfect. But after warm-up, it gradually climbs, and the resulting heat radiance during warm weather is way too hot.

ANSWER: What is the bike idle when its warm? Do you have any modications to the bike?

QUESTION: Re: High idle on 2008 Superglide
Warm idle is at 1,400 rpm. Bike is factory stock with no modifications whatsoever. Mileage is 10,000, synthetic oil, and has been riden by an adult, and broken-in as per owners manual instructions. All service schedules have been followed, and there are no other problems or noises. Will adjusting the tamper-proof "idle" screw help? Not concerned with performance reduction as long as no damage to engine will occur.
How about re-mapping?

Answer
Since you havent made any changes then you dont need to remapp. you can adjust the idle, it will not hurt the motor. If you adjust it you have to shut the bike off and unplug the fuse to the ECM for about 15 minutes to get the idle to set
Good luck and happy riding
