Motorcycle Repair: 1988 honda 600 hurricane, fuel pump relay, houseofmotorcycles

Question
Ok heres the deal I had my bike running the other morning to warm up...and it just slowly cut off...I checked the fuel pump (striaght wired it to the battery) and it worked fine...But when I installed it back on the bike the fuel pump doesnt work...so It will only run on closed choke and basically gravity feed, But as soon as you give it gas it will cut off...I have been looking for a wiring diagram of the harness for a fuel pump relay or an oil saftey switch but cant seem to find nothing yet. P.S. Fueses are good also. please help!

Are you looking at the parts microfiche:

The wiring harness isn't labelled but I couldn't find a relay for the fuel pump.

I would put a voltmeter on the contacts for the fuel pump and see how much juice you are getting off the wiring harness. Maybe there's a short somewhere.

Also I am not familiar with this type of system but does the fuel pump run continuously or is there a vacuum switch for it. I would think that pushing fuel into the carbs even while the motor is shut off doesn't make sense so there's probably some sort of switch to indicate the motor is running.
