Motorcycle Repair: brake lights stuck on, foot brake, brake switch

i have a 1988 flhtc with about 16,000 miles on it.the brake light is stuck on . both wires to brake switch at foot brake are hot,light is on with wires removed,does power go through foot brake wires if hand brake switch is bad

Check at the front brake handle. You will notice that the cover for the throttle and the cover for the brake are two seperate pieces. They need to be pushed tight together or the brake light will stay on. If it is still staying on then the front brake switch is probably bad
