Motorcycle Repair: CARB HOLDERS, kawasaki zephyr 750, kawasaki zr750

Question
I HAVE A 1992 KAWASAKI ZEPHYR 750 I AM TRYING TO FIND THE 4 RUBBER CARB HOLDERS THAT ATTACH TO THE CARB AND THE INTAKE(I THINK IT IS THE INTAKE)CLOSEST TO THE FRONT OF BIKE. MY ARE CRACKED AND I CANT KEEP MY BIKE RUNNING UNLESS THE THROTTLE IS WIDE OPEN AT ALL TIMES

Answer
Hi Eric...

Cracked intake boots can cause very poor performance. Normally, I would tell someone to check if they are actually leaking, as sometimes they really are not leaking even tho they appear cracked. New ones will run ya just under $20 each (x 4 carbs), so replacing them is the best idea... I located them at Temecula Motor Sports, here's the link:

They show them as costing $18.43 each, but the bolts and clamps are extra, but you can reuse the originals. To check the severity of the leak, start your bike and try to hold the engine at a constant RPM, then spray the boots with something like WD40.... if there is a noticeable change in RPM's then they are leaking bad. Hope this helps to get ya running proper Eric!!!
