Motorcycle Repair: Removing Speedo on 93 Heritage, odometer reset, cowling

Can you provide some instructions on how to remove the speedo? The lighting has failed and the instrument is "loose" in the housing. The shop manual is a bit simplistic in how to take it apart.

Answer
Remove the cowling over the speedo. There is a nut on top of it. If the odometer reset is in the way of it coming off, then you have to remove it. There is a small screw inside the knob. Once you have the cover off look at the back of the speedo and you will see a pin on each side that has to be removed and the speedo will lift out
