Motorcycle Repair: 1200 sportster, filter area, air filter

i have oilcomming out my carbrator,  any ideas

Your bike is vented to the air filter back plate. When the bike is running air from the motor go there and sometimes with a little mist of oil, so you get oil in the air filter area.
You can do two things. Either clean the air filter often, or you can get a kit that vents the air to the bottom of the bike
