is it easy to change the timing chain on a 85 honda xr100

Answer
Depends on what you consider easy.  It requires taking the top cover off, pulling the cam and the right side cover with all of the parts to get the point you can remove the chain off of the crankshaft.  It's not simple but it's not too difficult.  I wouldn't suggest you attempt it without a manual.  It's at least that hard.

Sorry, I should have said left engine cover to get to the timing chain.
