Motorcycle Repair: oil drain plug, oil drain plug, heli coil kit

I own a 1996 Suzuki Katana 600cc. Is there a history of oil drain plug-bolts vibrating out of the engine casing and falling out? My oil drain plug-bolt fell out after I had riden about 120 miles and while I was riding between 50-60 mph, what is the cause?

I have never heard of any problems with the drain bolt on Katanas. I would say that either it wasn't reinstalled properly or perhaps the threads are stripped. Get yourself a new drain bolt and see if it tightens down properly. If it doesn't, then you can get a heli coil kit, follow the directions in the package and that should fix you up!!
