Motorcycle Repair: 85 honda shadow 500 starting problem #2, starter solenoid, clutch lever

Question
Hello Jim,
I was writing to you before about my shadow not starting, this is what I wrote previously:

I bought a new battery for this bike this past spring, drove it around for half the summer. One day I went out and the charge was low and wouldn't start, I figured it was from not being started in over a week. I charged the battery until full, then went for a ride.

Then the bike didn't start back up when going home and I had to push start it. The bike seems to never hold a charge since. I did some trouble shooting online to see if it was the stator or rectifier, the guide told me it was the rectifier since the volts were higher than 14.3 when running.

I replaced the rectifier, charged the battery, and it still doesn't start unless I have a charger on the bike with a trickle or boost on it. I did bring the battery back to autozone for them to test it before replacing the rectifier and they said it was good.

Well it tuned out my multimeter battery was bad, I replaced it, now I'm getting a good reading on the bike battery.

Bike off I get 12.8
At idle i get 13.2 (varies)
At variable RPMs I get 13.5

So I assume my rectifier wasn't bad after all, but new or old, the bike doesn't want to start even when the battery is fully charged. I hope it's not the stator!

Any help would be awesome, thanks.

Answer
Your battery is fully charged and the bike won't start?

Does it turn over? If it does then there may be a problem with the ignition.

If it doesn't turn over:

Does the starter solenoid click? If it doesn't then the problem may be corrosion in the starter button, the clutch lever, the ignition switch or the wiring harness.

If it does click then the problem may be with the starter or with corrosion in the wiring harness.
