Answer
Hi Preston...

Has the bike been stored or not used for an extended period of time? If yes, then the symptoms you described indicate the carbs are gummed up and require cleaning. If the bike has always been running fine and this just started for no reason, I would first look inside the gas tank. If it is rusty, the petcock may be clogged up. There are usually 2 fuel filters on the CBR1000. One is in the tank and is considered part of the petcock. It is cleaned by removing the petcock. There is also an inline fuel filter between the petcock and the fuel pump. This filter is bigger and is usually not a problem. You may also have a faulty fuel pump or fuel pump relay. If you feel confident enough to work on the bike, I would suggest getting a manual specifically for your make and model and use that manual to help guide you while you check the items I listed. Good luck Preston!!
