Motorcycle Repair: 1982 v45 sabre front brakes, soft aluminum, disk brakes

front brakes felt like they was dragging then they locked up
your opinion would be appreciated

Drag on disk brakes is a pretty common problem.  It's caused by the o-ring seal binding up the piston.  When you finally get it apart you will find a hard varnish like build up behind the o-ring which you will have to scrape out.  I usually bend a nail and flatten the end and use it to gently scrape out the build up.  Just be careful not to damage the soft aluminum housing. You can replace the o-ring or you may be able to clean it well enough to reuse it.
