Motorcycle Repair: 1975 honda 550 four, honda 550 four, decent shape

i bought this bike dirt cheap($200) everything is there and in decent shape the guy just wanted it gone for the space. He told me it hasn't been rode since 2001 so where should i start? I'm no mechanic but i'm not dumb i just don't know anything about it. I'm not even sure where the fuses are located.

Well Sam, this could take a while.  First, you'll want to get a manual so you can know where things are and have some directions for how to perform certian tasks.  I'd start by changing all of the fluids.  Drain the old fuel out, change the engine oil and filter and replace the battery.  If the guy didn't drain out the fuel before parking it, the carbs will have to come off an be cleaned.  

If the bike was running when parked, chance are good the bike will run after the carbs are cleaned and with a fresh fully charged battery is installed.
