Motorcycle Repair: 2005 FLSTCI, starter relay, starter switch

Question
When I turn the switch on it will start without touching the start button. I just had the fuel pump replaced 2 weeks ago and they took the tank off and cleaned it out. Is there a chance that they pinched the blk
wire coming from the starter button going to the relay? I replaced the relay with no change. It took about 300 miles after fuel pump replacement to do this.

Answer
You have juice going to the starter relay which is causing your problem. A pinched wire usually causes a short to ground. You might have a bad starter switch. Check at the starter switch and see if you have power on both sides of is when the ignition is turned on. Another thing you can do is unplug the wire to the starter relay from the ignition switch and see if it turns over.
Good luck and happy riding
