Motorcycle Repair: 1975 Honda 750 four, honda 750 four, clutch cable

Question
Hello,
I changed the clutch cable on my bike, and now it will not start. It had been sitting for a while when I bought it a week ago, but I rode it 11 miles to my house and it ran great. Now it will not start and it acts like it is not firing. Did I do something wrong on the clutch cable?

Answer
I think on that model there's a neutral interlock so the bike has to be in neutral and the neutral light on before the starter will engage.  There's a switch on the clutch lever to indicate that the clutch is pulled in.  Sometime those switches go bad or the diode that overrides the lock out when the clutch is pulled in go bad.

Other that that, there's no connection between the clutch cable and the starter.
