Motorcycle Repair: 1994 Suzuki Intruder 1400 Battery, suzuki intruder, intruder 1400

I recently bought this bike and replaced my BS16 battery with a BS14 from Advance Auto (thinking the battery was the problem). After 1 day it lost it's charge. The battery still had 1 amp charge and was new. What could be the issue? What other components may be affecting the drain/charge? Alternator, etc.?

My question is after you put the battery on did you ride the bike and if so your battery went down then i would say you have a bad charging sytem ,i would check the rectifier are the alternator which ever one you might have givin you problems.i hope this helps you .if you need more info please let me know .ok.
