Motorcycle Repair: Transmission, suzuki rm, shift forks

Question
I have a 2001 Suzuki RM 125K which I have owned since new.
The problem I am having is the screws that hold the pawl lifter came loose causing the transmission to not shift.I reassembled the pawls and the lifter. The bike shifts fine when not under power. In 2nd gear when power is applied it immediately jumps into 3rd.I have split the cases inspected the shift forks changed any slightly worn parts but still have the problem. I had it to 2 different shops and still   come up with the same problem. There isn't all that much there but I'm stumped (as well as 2 pro shops). 2nd gear is the only gear it happens in. When down shifting under a  load no power applied 2nd hold fine. (as in going down hill at speed downshifting entering a corner)
Thoughts??

Answer
hello jeff ,

i believe you may have a bad syncronizer that would be causing it to jump either in to a higher gear or a lower gear especiall since you mentioned it only happens when you are applying power or should i say raising the r.p.ms . This would cause the gears to jump into other gears whether higher or lower. HMM? DRIVE THE BIKE REAL EASY AND SHIFT WITHOUT GETTING DOWN ON IT IF IT SHIFTS FINE YOU HAVE A BAD SYNCRO. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU , IF YOU NEE MORE INFO PLEASE FEEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME OK.
