Motorcycle Repair: 1980 CB650-white/grey smoke, 1980 cb650, hi bob

Hi Bob,

1980 CB650. White/grey smoke pours out from the top end of the motor/engine. I think (hard to pinpoint) smoke around carb also. Smoke appears after the bike is hot and continues for about 5 minutes after the bike is shut off. Thanks for your help.

This sounds like oil dripping on a hot exhaust header and blowing back through the fins to the carb area to me, but I could be wrong.

When this is happening, leave the bike running and try to blow the smoke away with a strong electric fan from several directions so that you can see where it is actually coming from.
