Motorcycle Repair: 81 honda CT110 ignition, honda ct110, point gap

Question
This bike has sit for some time. Now I get a after fire out the exhaust at high rpm and letting off the throttle. The points look good, but would like to give her a good tune up. What point setting do I use in relation to crank positing? Just need some tune up info. Thanks

Answer
The point gap is .014 and you should set the timing so the points open when the flywheel "F" mark pass the indicator pointer. I'm afraid it's a trial and error method since you have to adjust the points, check the timing, make an adjustment and then check it again.
