Motorcycle Repair: 1979 Honda CM 185 Twin, honda cm, kick starter

Question
When cold, or sitting for a few hours, the only way to start my bike is by kick starting. It just turns over/doesn't fir e with the electric start.  It usually starts after the 2nd kick. After it's warm, electric start works great. Is there a primer bulb/kit that I can put in the gas line to pump gas into the carbs when cold. I have a jet ski that started so hard until I put in a primer kit - now it starts great.
Thanks

Answer
The problem doesn't sound like fuel to me since it starts so well with the kick starter.  It sounds like a starter motor that is drawing down the battery voltage so much that the plugs don't get the energy they need to fire properly.  The easiest way I know of to check this would be to jump the bike to a non-running car and see if the bike doesn't start the way you'd expect.  It could be the battery or the starter.   Either of those could cause too much voltage drop.

Good Luck
