Motorcycle Repair: how to adjust jets?, air fuel mixture, intermediate jet

Question
QUESTION: Hello again Mike, I've read this answer by you:(Its not your air/fuel misture screw that is the problem. the air/fuel mixture screw only affects the idle. Once you are off idle, youa re on the intermediate jet up to around 2500 RPM, then you go to the main jet. Clean the plugs and start the bike and let it warm up. Slowly turn the screw inward, just until the bike starts to stumble and then out about 1/4 turn and its set. Go back to your orgional jetting and go for a ride. Do not go over 2500 RPM and ride for about 5 miles and check your plugs and adjust the intermediate jet from there. then go for a ride and go over 2500 RPM and adjust the main jet from there. each time you change jets readjust the air/fuel mixture screw
Good luck and happy riding)

QUESTION: yes its only recently and the black smoke is more recent and I havent touch a thing cause I'm waiting on the how to adjust the jets, I think because its been sitting in the garage for a few ( maybe 3 ) months with only 2-3days/week of 10 min warm up on idling. Could you just tell me how to adjust the intermediate and main jets I'm pretty sure this will definitely solve it. oh and sparks ore good still. Ta...

Answer
Your jets might not be the problem.  I would do a OHMs test on the coil and plug wires to makesure they are good. A bad coil or plug wires will cause the problem you are having.
If you want to change the jetting then follow the above as to what I said. When I say adjust the jets, what youa re doing is changing them out for either a bigger or smaller jet. there is no adjustment to the jets themselves
Good luck and happy riding
