Motorcycle Repair: heritage, brake switch, signal lights

Question
I asked you a question earlier about my alarm sys- got that fixed- now I have something shorting out my switches and speedometer. The turn signal lights are on , along with headlamp, etc, but not blinking. Brake switch will not work lamp, digital is gone on speedometer and stuck at 35 mph. Blows accy fuse. Replace fuse- you can shake and beat the hell out of the bike and turn handlebars, nothing happens- take it out for a spin, blow fuse. I've traced out the o/w wire on the harnesses and can't find a short- can tssm be going bad cuz that has "flasher" in that?- What's shorting out the switches? 2002 heritage thanks Anna

Answer
All your switches receive power fromt he same place, so what you have to do is start tracing out the wires from the battery to the switches. If you are blowing a fuse, then you probably have a grounded wire. If it only happens when you go for a ride, you probably have a chaffed wire that is touching the frame from vibration when riding
Good luck and happy riding
