Motorcycle Repair: choke cable, air cleaner, good luck

I have a stock 1990 sportster . The choke knob is broken. how to replace the choke cable? Do i have to remove the tank or carb ? how does it attach to the carb?

First, you have to remove the carb. The choke cable is screwed into the carb. You dont have to remove the tank to take the carb off. remove the air cleaner assembly and the carb will pull off. Route the choke cable like you took it off and you set
