Motorcycle Repair: 71 350CL electrical, wiringdiagrams, oldmanhonda

Question
Hi Bill,  I'm trying to get an old 350 running but am having some trouble with the electrical work. I got a new battery and all the connections look good other than two wires (a gray and dark green) where it looks like something is missing that should be connected. I can get the horn to work but none of the lights or blinkers work. Any idea about what I should do?

Answer
Jack, go here for a wiring diagram:

A gray wire is generally for the turn signal flasher. However, some harnesses have spare wires and different countries use different flashers, with different wiring connectors. Green is usually ground.

The ignition switch routes power for lights to the handlebar switches, via connectors in the headlight shell. Check all connections and wiring colors for correct connections.
