how do you adjust the lifters on a 84'shovelhead 1340 the are crane adjusting lifters tappets

Answer
remove the tappets and bleed them. To do this, push a stiff in the bottom to move the ball in there and then pump the top. Now install them. Go to the front exhaust and rotate the motor so the pushrod is all the way to the bottom of its stroke. Now tighten the pushrod until its tight and then back out about 1 1/2 turns. Do this for each one
