Motorcycle Repair: 1985 honda 200s timing, honda 200s, height settings

Question
Hi, I just picked up this wheeler and it won't start. I checked for spark, and fuel I have them both.. the actual wheeler fell off the trailer at 70mph! The motor was untouched but the axles got mangled, is there any way it could have knocked the timing off? if so I need the timing set up.. Thanks!

Answer
Steven,
After a serious crash lots of items can shake loose.  Like you said, if you have a strong spark and fuel then it should at least fire/sputter.  If the spring loaded timing chain tensioner broke on the impact then it is possible the timing is off.  Check that it is not broken.  Also, the floats in the carb could have gotten shaken out of proper adjustment and be flooding the engine.  You need to get a shop manual for the float height settings, timing marks, etc.  ROB
