Motorcycle Repair: looking for battery cover for 85 honda shadow vt 1100, salvage yards, honda shadow

Hi there,

I hope it's ok that I'm asking for your expertise to help me find a part and not repair something.

My husband came home from a ride the other day and the battery cover was missing.  I've tried ebay, google (leading to several part sites) as well as local salvage yards.  I'm just wondering if you have any other insight on where I could try and find this part.

Michelle, I've had pretty good luck at the "Cycle ReCycle Part2" in Indianapolis.  Rob, the owner is a little tough to get a hold of sometimes.  Their phone is always busy but it's because they have a ton of inventory.  I've dealt with Rob for years and he'll take care of you if he can.  There's a "Cycle Recycle" and a "Cycle Recycle Part2" both in Indy and both on 10th street. Try Part 2 first and then the other. I'd bet they'll one of them will have one.  I don't have the numbers handy but you can get that from information.  If you have trouble finding the number, let me know and I'll dig it up for you.  There's also a place in Louisville, KY I've dealt with but they are a little higher priced.
