QUESTION: I BOUGHT A NEW FUEL TANK.HOW HARD IS IT TO TAKE OFF THE OLD TANK AND INSTALL THE NEW TANK.I TOOK OFF THE ONE NUT BY KEY SWITCH.THEN THERE WAS A ROUND PLATE UNDER THAT ,BUT THERE WAS A LABEL ON THE PLATE THAT SAID "SEE MANUAL BEFORE REMOVAL".AND IS THE FUEL GAUGE HARD TO REMOVE.

ANSWER: Is it fuel injected?

Answer
You have to remove the plate you are refering to. Inside is the fuel pump and the wiring for the fuel pump. You will also have to remove the float for the fuel gage and the gage as well as the wiring and all the fittings.
Your best bet, since you are working on your own bike, is get a service manual. In it you will find pics and text to follow and will make it easier to do the work. It will also be a good reference for the future.
