Motorcycle Repair: honda magna 750, honda magna 750, coolant pumps

Question
QUESTION: Hi! I live the Philippines and need some assistance. The mechanics here can "jerry-rig" or fabricate anything but diagnosis is always and issue. when i turn the engine over water/ coolant comes out of one of the four tailpipes. It started a week ago with small water drops but now the coolant pumps through and out the exhaust.
Thanks very much

ANSWER: Sounds like a head gasket.  Check compression and it should show you which cylinder is the offender.

QUESTION: Thanks very much... is it possible that the head is cracked?

Answer
Yea, I guess that would cause the water in the exhaust but I've never seen a cracked head, but it could happen.  If it is, they are on ebay all the time since there's not much demand for heads.  They rarely fail so I'd be surprised if it's cracked...unless the engine froze with water in the cooling system.   I wouldn't think that would happen in the Philippines.
