Motorcycle Repair: 2000 FXDWG, disk brakes, rotor

Question
I have a 2000 HD FXDWG which has a strange but almost unnoticeable sound in the front end. It sounds as if the front brakes are dragging and is evident until the brake is engaged then the noise seems to disappear. I just had the bike in for it's 12000 mile service and did not notice it previously. Is it possible that it could be a warped disc or that the bearings in the front could be pooched?

Thanks Fred

Answer
Jack the bike up so the front wheel is off the ground and spin it. You are probably hearing a disk rubbing against the rotor, which most disk brakes do anyway. If its rubbing to bad you need to remove the rotor and check it for warpage
Good luck and happy riding
