Motorcycle Repair: 1984 FLHTC Evo clutch adjust, clutch adjustment, locking nuts

Question
My bike always wants to go, VERY hard to find neutral
while stopped at a light. Do you think a clutch adjustment
would correct this? I read your howto on clutch adjustment
and must ask you if this procedure would apply to my clutch
which has 3 depression type locking nuts?
Thanks, John.

Answer
If your bike is pulling you foward at a light, tehn your clutch needs adjusted. Go to the cable and turn it so you have play in it. Now go to the clutch and in the center you will see the adjusting bolt and locknut. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster inward until it touches and then outward about 1/8 of a turn. Go back to the cable and adjust it so you have about 1/8 inch play in it and your good to go.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
