Motorcycle Repair: Katana gas lines, suzuki katana 600, vent hoses

Question
I have a 1995 Suzuki Katana 600, It didn't have a gas tank when I got it so I don't know where the hoses connect to. there are 2 upper and 2 lower on the carbs, then there is 2 long hoses coming off the tank. The adjuster valve on the tank has 3 ports. Can you help me in where these all go?

Answer
these bikes have alot of confusing
hoses. Even more so on Calif models.
Some of the hoses belong to the emissions
system, others are for vacuum and fuel.

The fuel petcock on the gas tank has two fuel lines branching to the four carbs and one smaller vacuum line
goes to the carb intake pipe.

The carbs sometimes have two upper air vent hoses
that usually go to the air box.

The four into two lower carb vent hoses go to the
emissions canister for the vapors
to be recycled back into the engine.

The fuel lines are generally larger than the vacuum and the air vent hoses.

The main ones to worry about are the
ones from the gas tank to the carbs.
Each fuel line from the tank goes into
two carbs with a "T" fitting.
The smaller line will go to a small
fitting where the carbs hook on to get vaccuum
from the engine to open the fuel petcock valve
on the tank.
