Motorcycle Repair: CAM CHAIN MASTER LINK, cold chisel, honda dream

Question
I HAVE A 1965 HONDA DREAM 305 GETTING READY TO REBUILD MOTOR WHEN TAKING MOTOR APART COULD NOT GET TO MASTER LINK ON CAM CHAIN SO I HAD TO CUT ANOTHER LINK.DO YOU NO WHERE TO GET A MASTER LINK FOR MY CAM CHAIN CAN NOT FIND ONE I HOPE YOU CAN HELP..THANK YOU..

Answer
Yea, that's a problem.  Try looking at the CB450 cam chain master link.  I think that's the same size and pitch as the old 305s.  It requires a staking tool to rivet the ends on the link or if you're careful with and hammer and cold chisel you can stake it.  Just be sure to back up the link with a body dolly or hammer so you don't chip a tooth out of the cam sprocket.
