Motorcycle Repair: rear brake pad replacement, car disc brakes, hd sportster

Hi Mike,
I have a 2005 HD Sportster 1200C. I need to replace the rear pads. What kind do you recommend and what is the procedure? I have done car disc brakes but not Harley.

using a certain pad is a matter of opinion, but if it were me I would go with a kevlar type pad. takes the heat better.
As to replacing them, on the front of the caliber you will see two bolts that are the pins that hold the pads inplace. remove the bolts and slide the old pads our. use a screwdriver and open the plunger in the caliber farther so the new pads will fit. Install the new pads the way the old one came out and install the pins
