Motorcycle Repair: 73 honda cb350g super sport, frank bishop, gmail

Question
Wayne,
I need some advice... I have a 1973 honda cb350g super sport, It had a bad plug on the right side ,no spark.
I put 2 new ngk plugs in and it ran great !! today i lost spark on the right side,??? it is not the plug , I switched plugs and still the same ,no spark?
can one of the coils be bad ? or could it be the points?
the bike has 11,000 miles on it and the plugs were the originals that i changed out. all the wires seem to be good. can you recommend a way to isolate the problem ,points, coil, etc. ? any info would be helpful.
thank you

Answer
Frank,

check that the points for
the right coil are opening
and closing okay.

You can lay the spark plug
and wire on the engine and
then snap the contact points open with a
screwdriver to see if you get any spark.
There should be some power or sparks
right at the contacts.
They may need cleaning or setting.
Check the blue wire from the coil
to the points for breaks.

Also check the spark plug cap as
they can fail. You can try switching
the primary (small) coil wires to
see if the right side coil is faulty.

If it works with the wires switched
it is likely just the right cylinder
points or condensor.
Check for power to both coils.(black/white)
Check the coil grounds to the frame.
