bill,do you have a wiring diagram for a 1978 xl 125? I am trying to get it running with, or preferably with out a battery. thank you.

The early bikes were all battery-powered ignition systems, so you had to have a battery in the bike. I think, as they moved in to the mid-late 70s, the XLs had quick disconnect lights and magneto style ET ignition systems, but I could be wrong. Been a long time since I have seen one.

I guess you didn't get an owner's manual with the bike. They have diagrams in the back, usually.
