Motorcycle Repair: 1992 kx80, air leaks, kx 80

Question
I have a 1992 kx 80 that won't start well when cold.  If I put some gas in the plug hole it will go first kick.  It will go first kick every time when it's warm.  Do you have an answer?

Answer
Mike,

most likely the idle jet or passages
in the carb are plugged. Check that the
choke is functioning as well.
Check for any air leaks where the
carb hooks up to the engine.
Make sure you can see daylight through the
idle jet, it is next to the main jet in
the carb center.
Low compression can also be a factor.
