Question Can you tell me how to check the cdi? under left side cover there is a black wire with a yellow stripe that is not hooked up, is it a ground wire or power wire or do you know were to hook it up.

With wiring it gets tricky here because Suzuki uses
yellow/black wires that go
to the igniter box and up to the ignition
coils. They may also be used on the
fuel gauge and it's sender unit on the
gas tank. Notice I said "yellow/black"
which is a yellow wire with a black tracer.
If your bike has ignition points,
some older Suzuki's used black/yellow tracer wires
from the contact breaker points to the ignition
coils.
There is little you can do to test a CDI or
ignitor unit. Suzuki had a very expensive
testing unit for these.
Check all the grounds, fuses, wiring, connectors
and battery first.
Often these are the more likely problem.
