Motorcycle Repair: EVO oil seal, clutch basket, oil seal

main shaft oil seal is leaking. How can I remove it ?

I see they have a tool to replace it. Do I have to split the case? Can it be replaced without opening the case?

Answer
To change the mainshaft oil seal you have to remove the primary cover, motor sprocket and clutch basket. the seal is behind the motor sprocket. You can get it out with a seal puller. There is a tool to put the new on in, but you can use a pipe that is big enough to fit over the shaft and gently drive it in.
