Motorcycle Repair: 85 wide glide clutch replacement, clutch replacement, clutch lever

I just replaced the clutch cable on my '85 wideglide and now the transmition seems to be slipping. Is there a trick to adjusting the new cable?

you need to remove the derby cover and loosen the 11/16 nut. Turn OUT the flat head screw bolt till its loose. Then take ALL of the slack out of the cable.
Then, turn the flathead bolt IN, untill the bolt is SNUG, then turn it back out 1/2 turn....Tighten the 11/16 lock nut.
NOW, turn the cable adjustment out untill you have 3/16 of play between the clutch lever, and the clutch perch., you clutch will be set to factory specs and good to go!
