Motorcycle Repair: honda z50, open gap, rear shock

Question
I was given a Honda z50A with the rear shock frame. I eliminated all the wiring except the black wire from magneto to coil, but no spark. New plug did'nt help. I ordered points, condenser and shop manual from CHP in Texas. There is not one word about the mag in the manual. I have'nt installed the points condenser yet. The old ones look fine. Any suggestions?

have you checked if any power is coming
from the magneto coil to the ignition
coil? It should at least light up
a test light.
Make sure the points are fully closing and just breaking
open on the "F" mark with a fully open gap of .014"
Try it with the plug cap off.
Clean the flywheel magnets and make sure
the flywheel key is not sheared.
Check for a good coil ground and the wire that
goes to the magneto for shorts.
Try the new points and condensor.
Try a new coil.
