Motorcycle Repair: Carbs, crank shaft, stock muffler

Question
Sir.

I removed the carbs, it wasn't easy. I am waiting on the repair manual so that I can put things back together in case something goes wrong. Taking out the carb was quite difficult, I don't know too much about all this but even I thought it was more difficult than it should have been. I noticed that the frame of the bike has two detachment points that would allow the engine to drop, should I drop the engine to make the install of the carbs easier? The bike has a crank shaft by the way, should this be detached before dropping the engine. I placed the fuel filter where you said, seems to work fine but the problem persists, I am working on the carbs now. Also, what rejet kit do you recommend, what should I pay, and, should I get the synchronization done professionally or do it myself? I thought about removing the stock muffler assembly and just leaving straight pipes, will this require the carbs to be synchronized again? Thank you for all your help.

Answer
Do not drop the engine. Just take your time. I know it is a tight fit. Also do not worry about sync. Right now just get them cleaned with the dip and make sure they are together correctly. The problem will be there until the crabs are clean the fuel filter is just to keep junk from getting back into them. Check the jetting with the manual and see if it is stock or not. Then let me know.
