Question
PLEEEEZE can you help me.My yamaha FZR 400 is giving me problems,it is not revving over 2000 and i have replaced the spark plugs and checked the diaphrams and the leads and the.i have to push start it and then it keeps cutting outit keeps putting petrol back into the carbs!is this normal.it seems like there is to much petrol.and i have to keep taking the spark plugs out and clean them because they end up black in colour.it is also one tooth behind in the timing would that also cause problems. would it be the carbaration or a valve?

Answer
The first thing you need to do is make sure the bike is in time! Also find out why it got out of time in the first place? Did it jump time because the tensioner is bad or because someone took it apart and did not put it back together right?? After it is in time try to run it again. If ti does not run correctly the carbs are going to need to be took apart completely and soaked in a "carb dip" to remove any and all varnish in the ports.
