Motorcycle Repair: 1997 CR125 clutch, clutch springs, clutch basket

Question
I have recently replaced clutch basket and have checked all other clutch parts.. Plates, springs, discs, etc.. all measure to the book..  When all back together clutch grabs when let out but slips under acceleration.. Cable adjustment is all the way in.. Any help would be great thankyou...

Answer
Chris,

the lever behind your ignition cover has to
have some free play. I believe you adjust
this with the cable adjuster.
-The handlebar lever then should have a little free play
as well.
-Was the clutch push rod okay?
If bent that could be a problem.
-Is the cable working freely?
-Is the lower clutch lever working freely?
-Is the trans oil free of additives?
If the cables and levers and push rod are
okay I suspect the clutch assembly:
-worn or warped clutch plates
-assembled incorrectly
-grooves worn in the clutch hub.
-weak clutch springs.
That's about all there is.
