Motorcycle Repair: Front end FXSTC, best bet, rake

Hi, I would like to put on a springer front end on my stock FXSTC. I would like it to be longer than stock, but since the rake of the frame is stock(33 or 34 ?) I guess I can`t put on those looong forks. So my question is: How many inches over stock is adviceable to put on?

Aftermarket companies make neck cups that will change your rake up to 3 degrees, os if you want longer, you can go that way.
On the length, you can put on forks as long as you want. Your best bet is to put a board under the front tire the thichness of the more lenght you want. Then you can see what the bike will look like
