Motorcycle Repair: Honda XR 75 1978 Model Ignition Timing, honda xr 75, oints

Question
How do i set Ignition Timing accurately to get it running.

Answer
Hi Glen,

Usually, when the top of the cam cover is off, and the #1 cyl is at TDC, there are lines across the cam gear to line up with the flat surface on the head. Then, you'll need to pull the rotor cover to find the "T" mark, line that up with the mark on the engine case and make sure the oints are JUST begining to open. Then the timing should be set correctly..

Hope this helps!
