Motorcycle Repair: Starting problem, zzr600, zx6

Question
I have recently bought a 1991 ZZR600 (Australia) I think it's a ZX6 in other countries. The bike is a credit to it's previous owner and is immaculate. I have however started having problems with starting it. It will start first time every time when cold and runs well without missing etc. But after a long ride when it's warmed up, it will turn over but refuse to start. The strange thing is that when this happens I roll start the bike in second and it fires first time and runs well. It's got stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi John,

Actually, your ZZR600 is in both countries, and WHAT A COOL BIKE!! I prefer the ZZR over the ZX to be honest...

In any event, it sounds to me like you may have a fuel related issue. Possible that the pump is not cycling when the bike is warmed up providing isufficient fuel pressure? That would be my 1st guess, but without doing diagnosis, its difficult for me to make an honest diagnosis. I maybe would look into that 1st, then narrow it dow to whats working when it should and what isnt..

Hope this helps!!
