Motorcycle Repair: High idle speed!, suzuki bandit 400, air fuel mixture

Question
Hi. I bought a 1991 Suzuki Bandit 400 last year, but its been sitting around since. About 3 weeks ago I got the carbs all cleaned up, although the mechanic that cleaned the carbs thought that they were off a 700cc bike, and probably set the carbs accordingly. I installed the carbs today, and the bike turned on right away. The problem is that, when I turn the bike on, the idle speed jumps right up to 10,000rpm and stays constant. I have tried the air/fuel mixture screw, but that does not seem to be changing anything. It keeps idling at 10,000rpm. I have also checked the throtle cable, but that is not the problem either. Everything is stock. Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks!
Joel

Answer
If you have truley checked everything and tried adjusting the air flow mixture screw and the idle screw, the only thing left would be your slide. Remove your airbox and feel inside your carb, you should feel your slide blocking your carb, if not then your slide is stuck in the full throttle position. Just turn it around 180 degrees and that should fix your problem.
